1. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

======================

 
 	Operating System:	Mac OS X 10.4.7 and higher. 

	Memory:                 At least 256 megabytes (MB) of RAM 

	Hard Disk:            	25 MB free space 

	Other:                  Internet connection 
 


2. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

============================
  

	1. To get the software, click the 'Download K9 for: Mac OS X' 
           button on http://www1.k9webprotection.com/getk9/beta.php.  
           This will download a DMG file.

	2. If the DMG is not mounted, double-click it.

	3. Double-click the PKG file to begin the installation.

	4. Follow the prompts and directions on each screen.

	5. To configure K9, launch the System Preferences.

	6. Click on the K9 Web Protection icon in the 'Other' section.

	7. Click the 'Open K9 Administration' button.

	


3. UNINSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

	1. Launch the System Preferences.

	2. Click on the K9 Web Protection icon in the 'Other' section.

	3. Click the uninstall K9 Web Protection button.

	4. Enter your K9 administrator password when prompted.

	5. Enter your system administrator password when prompted.		



4. KNOWN ISSUES

===============

 
	1. When browsing a web site that is blocked by Blue Coat K9 
           Web Protection, selecting the option to 'Allow This Site' 
           or 'Allow This Category' intermittently does not accept the 
           K9 administrator password.

	2. K9 error and warning pages that include the option to override
	   the web filter intermittently do not accept the K9 administrator
	   password.  Refreshing the page should clear the problem and 
	   allow internet access again.
