How do I remove the K9 icon from the notification area?

Answer

Due to restrictions placed upon us by the Android operating system, there is no way to remove the icon from the notification area on Android devices. This is because of the fact that in order to have an active service (which K9 must operate as to ensure you are protected), the app MUST provide an icon to the notification center so the user will know the app is running.
